You can manage your task names from the settings menu which can be accessed via the cog icon in the top right of the screen and selecting Job Types from the menu.

Understanding Rules (Job Status)

The Rules for Tasks dictate how they're used throughout the system at various stages. Having a firm understanding of Rules is essential to getting the most out of Board Clever but can be tricky to grasp at first.

The Rules available for a job are:

Stage 1 - Starting a job, Board is going out, promoting sale or letting availability.

Stage 2 - A stage 1 task or Board has been erected. Stage 2 tasks are changes to a board, adding slip for sold or let, sale or letting completed, promoting lettings or sales business.

Close - Job has been completed, no more actions required for property.

None - Task for a job which does not manipulate the overall job status for the property such as misc slips or a generic re-erect task.

Read the  Status Walkthrough guide to understand how Board Clever uses these statuses throughout the board lifecycle.

Job Types

Once inside Job Types management you can change the name of the jobs, add new jobs or delete a job type.

View and Edit the Tasks under this Job Type

Enable / Disable this job type in the system

Delete this job type and all tasks associated to it - use with care.

Edit the name of this job type.

Tasks

To manage the tasks associated to a job type click the folder icon to be taken to the tasks management screen. From the tasks management screen you can create new tasks, rename or remove tasks, we ask that you do not edit the Add Slip task as this is used elsewhere within the system.

When you edit a task you'll see a screen similar to this where we're editing the "Erect - New For Sale" task.

Name: You can modify the name of this task to suit your needs.

Detail: This is a note for you to explain what this task involve should you feel it's not obvious from the title.

Default Price: This is the price the system will use unless you override it within the Client / Agent settings.

Rule: As this is a first stage task, the start of a workflow "Erect a new sign" it is a Stage 1 task. Refer to the Understanding Rules section above for more detail.

Slip: The option is available to set add a Slip when generating the task or if the task being defined IS a slip task. Typically left as "Yes"

Slip Only: For tasks which involve only changing or adding a slip. In this example a New For Sale board is not just a slip.

Board: This task is a complete board erection/change.

Show on Create Job List: Choose to show this task when a user is creating a new job instruction in the client portal. It may desirable to hide certain tasks from your Client users when they are creating a new job (such as Re-Erect For Sale).

Status and Job cannot be altered on this page. You can active or deactivate a Task using the ticks and crosses on the previous task list.
