Step 2 - Create new instruction and tasks

To create a board instruction at a new address either click Create Job from the homepage or on the left menu.



Client: If your Board Clever user account is associated to multiple offices or departments within your business then you'll have the option to select this office that this Job should be linked to.

Job Type: Your Board Erector will have defined the job types you can request. Typically these will be Sales or Lettings.

Task: Choose the type of task. These are also configured by your board erector, if there's a task you usually request which is not there please contact your board erector.

Board Positions: If you'd like to request multiple boards to be erected at the property please enter the positions for these here. You can type in the box to search, but you must select from the options presented to you in the drop down menu.


Address Details

Address: Enter the House number (if known) and Post Code of the address. If the address is known in various public records it will appear in here. Sometimes there are errors in the available data or newer roads which have yet to be adopted simply will not appear in this list. In this case you will need to manually enter the property address. Fields in bold and marked with a star are mandatory.


Job Details

The system will automatically choose the next working day to carry out the new instruction (prior to a cut off time defined by your board erector). If you'd prefer to select another day choose one from the calendar tool.

Slip: To have a slip added to this board, choose from the dropdown list. You may presently select just one slip per board.

Notes: The notes boxes let you add any information which may be useful to the board erector to successfully complete their task. Any tips regarding access to the property, contacts, times available etc should be entered here.

Notes for Location: If there are instructions specific to the location of the board enter those here.

Click Add Job button at the bottom of the page when you are finished.

Once the Job has saved it will appear in your Boards Up list with a status of "Not Complete" until the board erector updates your task.

If you need to edit this job or add further instruction this can be done via the Boards Up screen, see the relevant page in this guide. Note: You can only edit jobs up until the cut off time set by your Board Erector - this is often office closing time the day before the task is scheduled.


Adding multiple tasks to a job

If you wanted to add more than one instruction to an address (for example, erect new For Sale and add a pointer at the bottom of the road) this is possible by adding tasks to an existing job. Do not create two jobs - the system will warn you of creating a duplicate.


To add another task simply find the address in the Boards Up section and click the + icon for new task.


This will open up the Add Task page to specify the additional action.
